PRESIDENTS REPORT

Text Box: Happy New Year to all I hope you all had a great Xmas and enjoyed the time off. Well the drought has well and truly broke in true north coast fashion—Flood !! I hope you survived the flood without too much property damage and all the horses are well. We are now faced with the task of trying to prevent hoof problems and rain rot  life is never boring !!
The club held the Xmas Party this year at Thongs Thai Restaurant, we had a great turn out and a fantastic meal the club subsidised part of the food , our way of saying thank you to our members, I hope we can do something similar this year.
We are now allowed to travel our horses again with our travelling horse permit available on line from the DPI. It seems we are winning the battle against EI and hopefully we will be able to resume competitions and clinics once more. The club has booked the showground's and EFA competition dates for 2008 these are in this news letter we will keep you posted on how these may be run no doubt there will be some biosecruity measures in place for some time to come, what these will be I am not sure yet but I am sure we will all cope .
The club has purchased a new arena for 2008 this has been imported from America. This is part of the strategic plan to update our arenas and attract more competitors to our events. These arenas have been used at Olympic competitions, will be easier to erect and dismantle and should last the club for generations to come.
Memberships are now due. This year we are putting a new trophy into the club only available to club members this will be a riders trophy and we will let you know how you can be eligible to win it so stay tuned 2008 is about to begin
Cheers
Kim Jackson
